Space Engineer

Andrea Boyd

Andrea Boyd is the only Australian working in the International Space Station Flight Control worldwide, stationed the last seven years at the European Astronaut Centre. As a school student in Adelaide she dreamed of somehow working for Flight Control on the International Space Station and made a plan to action that goal. The International Space Station is the greatest engineering achievement and global collaboration of all time, with harmonious worldwide operations that transcend borders, languages, cultures and even politics!

Macinley Butson

Macinley Butson is an 18-year-old inventor from Wollongong NSW, who became the first Australian to win 1st place in the world at the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair in its history when she was just 16.
Her scientific endeavours have seen the creation of the SMART Armour – a device for Radiotherapy breast cancer patients which shields them from excess radiation during treatment, and recognition with awards such as being the 2018 NSW Young Australian of the Year.

Kat Dunn

Kat Dunn is the CEO of Grameen Australia – a social business inspired by Nobel Peace Prize Winner and Grameen Bank founder, Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Kat started her career as a finance lawyer at top tier law firm Clayton Utz before moving into a commercial role at listed fund manager Perpetual, where in 18 months, she led over 40 deals with total funds’ under management exceeding $3 billion. In 2016, Kat was the youngest executive to serve on the senior leadership team of Perpetual including as a member of Perpetual’s Diversity Council.
Kat created F-OFF: Fear of Failure Forum, a movement to say “F-OFF to your fear of failure and grow your potential” and coaches CEOs and high achievers on connecting profit with purpose.

Riki Theodorakakos

Riki Theodorakakos is a 17-year old student with a passion for environmental activism. Growing up in a world characterised by rising greenhouse gas emissions, immense rainforest deforestation and pressing resource shortages, Riki developed a profound urge to learn how to tackle crucial environmental challenges being faced by her generation.
After completing a research project in 2018 on the regulations, commercial uses and environmental merits of industrial hemp in Australia, Riki further fostered a love and passion for the environment, and in particular, recognised the power of hemp’s unique opportunity for environmental revolution. Riki seeks to study both law and environmental policy and management in order to fulfill her innate purpose: to live a life in the unwavering pursuit for environmental conservation and climate action.

Gabriel ‘DyspOra’ Akon

Gabriel ‘DyspOra’ Akon is an award-winning Hip-Hop recording Artist, Sonic Activist, Poet and founder of the playback 808 Kingdom. The nomadic troubadour was born in South Sudan and raised across various locations in East Africa until his family migrated to the South Australian city of Adelaide.
After spending his formative years in a Refugee camp in Kenya, DyspOra saw music as a key tool in breaking down cultural, lingual and racial barriers which led him to begin writing poetry at the age of 12 and had graduated to writing rhymes by the time he was in high school.

Matthew Wright-Simon (MC)

Matthew Wright-Simon is a creative facilitator and the founder of Ecocreative, a pioneering business in the sustainability and wellbeing sectors dedicated to ‘engagement for changemakers’. He also works with Newday Leadership, bringing events and workshops to people seeking ‘inspired leadership for the greater good’, a role that flows from volunteering for TEDxAdelaide and other creative forums.
Matthew brings a shared experience of social, environmental and economic issues to every project and initiative. This is evident in the energy Matthew brings to public events at every scale as a host and presenter, curator, mentor, storyteller and advocate for the positive impact enabled through human connection.

Jaemin is the founder of the insecurity project, the voice behind the popular one minute coach radio segment featured on stations all around Australia, author of “Elegantly simple solutions to complex people problems, and soon to be released “Unhindered – How to be free from insecurity before you are 40”

For the past 19 years d’Arcy has experienced more than 90 countries, given over 1000 presentations to 100,000+ people and worked with leading development, environmental, social justice and global education organisations and people. His self-initiated concept and organisation, Teaspoons of Change, focuses on the personal choices, decisions and actions that have a positive impact on people and the planet.
Among other things d’Arcy has also built two self-sufficient Happy-simply tiny homes and in 2014 started Teaspoons of Change with a 1000km walk and 1500km bike ride in Japan. d’Arcy is also an ambassador, advocate and enthusiast with many organisations including: World’s Largest Lesson, JUMP! Foundation, Global Citizen, End Polio Now, UNICEF, WHO, Gates Foundation, RESULTS, the Global Education and Leadership Foundation, Live Below the Line and many others.
